How this community works
Lingtastic teaches every Spanish word with an English sound-alike and an image too ridiculous to forget: casa sounds like "casserole", so it's a house that is a casserole; perro sounds like "pear oar", so it's a dog rowing a boat carved from a pear. The sound gets you in; the image is the hook. This site is where the community decides which images teach best.
1 · Join with your email, or just a name
Sign in with an email link (no password), and you can come back from any browser. Or just pick a username to vote right away; it lives in that browser, and you can add an email later.
2 · Vote on the images
Every word has candidate images. Vote ▲ helps me remember or ▼ doesn't. One vote per image, and you can change it any time. Scores and voter counts are public.
3 · Submit your own
Think you have a better sound-alike? Suggest a word, or upload your own image for one, free. Every image gets an automatic safety check before anyone sees it, and one hard rule applies: never put text inside the image.
4 · The community decides
When a word's vote settles and its leading image has passed the safety check, it's approved automatically (a moderator can also approve it) and it ships into the app. Your votes literally decide what learners see.
Fair voting, openly
As voting grows, votes will be weighted by track record: people whose votes keep matching the images that actually get chosen earn more sway, and mutual "you vote mine, I'll vote yours" rings are detected and flagged for human review, never punished automatically. Everything a moderator does is recorded permanently, with their name and reason.
Safety issues in an image? Every image has a report link, and reports go straight to a human.
